Why does Pawtient AI exist?
Pawtient AI began with the founder's experience caring for one cat with chronic kidney disease (CKD). That same cat also had hyperthyroidism and anemia. A veterinarian gave the cat a week to live; the cat lived about another six months. The cat outlived three prognoses. While caring for the cat, the founder persistently consulted Cornell research and kept a spreadsheet. This personal history does not establish that the founder's actions or Pawtient AI prolonged the cat's life. The experience of organizing care in a spreadsheet became the starting point for Pawtient AI.
Who is Pawtient AI for?
Pet parents in the middle of a chronic-care journey: CKD, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, heart conditions, cancer, IBD, FIP, EPI. The cohort that's already learning IRIS staging, glucose curves, and ALT trends because they have to. Pawtient AI compresses 6 months of self-taught vet vocabulary into a few minutes per appointment.
What's the design principle?
AI assistant and second opinion, never diagnosis. Pawtient AI helps you understand what your vet is telling you, prepare for the next appointment, track adherence, and catch trends early, but the clinical decisions stay with a licensed veterinarian. This is a hard, non-negotiable constraint of the product.
